The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot remote vacuum cleaner to date. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It uses AI to recognize objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.

Its design is superior to the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even could capture sand and small gravel which other robots couldn't do. And it did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.

The j7+, while not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, is still a good option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you see it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors A hybrid is the best choice. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your house at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't disappoint. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the luxurious features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still a great choice if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums can really fail. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses on walls and corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled using a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas or alter your home map, or change the room's label.

If you choose to purchase the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place it can be done easily. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for everyone, but it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and automated vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is among the top in the market however it's quite expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's main selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at collecting debris from plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of the home. It also can't climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price cost.

If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are many alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company that has a history of producing robot vacuum cleaner comparison vacuums with the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping functions for a low cost. It's easy to set it up, simply snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect the charging dock. The app takes you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock close to a power outlet and ample space for it to move around, however.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is more subtle in comparison to other models. It is sleek with a black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The main characteristic that makes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of non-movable objects that are in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. It then returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning the area it left.

The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
