World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase an
item upgrades's gear score up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus may exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to increase their stats. In the case of chests or helms, it will boost its base defense while gloves and belts increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgraded in addition to their relative values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button in the item menu, using the arrows that circle. This will reroll an item and change its statistics, but it will not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you will gain from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
You can't
upgrade item armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is
Best item upgrade to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock some perks on your armor. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed give the user the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five different types of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in the Alchemist's chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
There were a few changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the
item upgrader. The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. The same is true for the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
There are also lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant, such as a tiny thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be swapped at will without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying new ones. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the previous trinket but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer useful and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they won't replace in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players must also consider the preferred statistics of their class. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Once they have become useless trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
