However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover robot vacuum for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum cleaner makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance.
