The
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK Robot Hoover
The best robot vacuum can vacuum and mop your floors with no effort. It also leaves clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are a plus.
Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work, or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and an
automatic vacuum cleaner bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, however it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This top-performing mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a good job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and create more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.
For larger houses it's recommended to choose a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have large furniture. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that is washable.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuum cleaners
Best robot vacuum uk (
bbs.theviko.com) vacuums we have tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
