World of Warcraft Upgrades and item upgrades Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much it will improve after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item level upgrade more expensive if you do not need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. The item upgrade will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its initial state which means that the player has to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit attack damage, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade items will require a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
