World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The upgrade of items allows players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the stats of that gear, as well as sometimes adding buffs or the rerolling of an affix.

Items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. In general these NPCs are found in major cities or questing areas. You can also find upgrades for items by visiting dungeons that have high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs at the garrisons of your faction.
The item upgrade system in World of Warcraft provides players with the option of upgrading the levels of armor, weapons, and trinkets. This process is very similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the currency appropriate to the task players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.
Upgrades can be expensive particularly for armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path, each step up in the level of an item can cost several Valorstones or crests. The total cost can be prohibitive for players who do not have the funds or aren't willing to grind them.
Fortunately the game allows players to reroll an upgraded item with an additional tool available in the menu for items. This option will replace the upgraded item with a level 1 version that offers different bonus effects. This is useful to get better rolls on items which are already upgraded. However, it can also be a waste.
Requirements

This bonus is a combination of a guarantee extra substat as well as a random stat that will vary in value from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can roll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new version. The new
item upgrading will feature a different set of extra bonuses and a lower base item level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for dexterity and strength. It is important to keep in mind that the item rerolled does not keep its original strength or any wasted resources.
Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was an Epic Rare, Rare, or Unique. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a normal version of the same kind, while the rerolling of an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same kind.
An upgraded item might include additional modifiers that could further boost its stats and boost its performance. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade price. You can purchase them at the Trading Post, or through other players. They can also be earned by doing specific missions within the game.

Time
Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of your equipment and ship without the need to level them. Upgrades aren't cheap but they can be an effective way to increase your stats and not have to spend so much time fighting. It's important to know the cost and benefits prior to investing your time or money.
Each upgrade boosts the stats of the item's base by a certain amount and offers the chance of obtaining a bonus substat. The random substat may be anything from a minor boost to a massive boost. Concentrate on the things that work best in the slot first. They will give you a greater return for your investment.
You can see the amount of time needed to complete an upgrade if you open your inventory and select a weapon, ship or accessory. The upgrade window will show the progress and expected completion time. In certain situations, you might be able to speed up the upgrade process by applying an Glyph.

Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. In addition, players can recover upgraded items by using an Upgrade Extractor, or salvaging them using a top-quality salvage kit. Glyphs placed on gathering tools can be swapped freely.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button that has an arrow that rerolls the player can reroll it into another upgradeable item. This alters the layout of the
item level upgrade's window and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item will be replaced with one of the level 1 items. Rerolled items won't retain their current level or amount of resources needed to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an
item upgrader mod is determined by the item's tier as well as its quality. Uncommon items can be upgraded to an maximum of level six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. The
