robots that vacuum and mop (
Setiathome.berkeley.edu)
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A
good robot vacuum combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For instance, you could decide to let the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and
auto vacuum and mop come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available however, it comes with a lot of extra features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other
robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
