The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It makes use of AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.

The design is also more appealing than the other models. It has an elegant, top piece that appears like a toy rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. The Clean Base automatic floor vacuum Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ quickly took away dirt, dust, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one location rather than sending it scattering across the automatic floor vacuum. It even managed to take small gravel and sand that other robots couldn't do. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, is a good option for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not too expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to know whether the update actually working until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your most effective option is likely to be hybrid. These robots come with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not come with some of the luxurious features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) however, it's a great choice for those who are willing to make a few compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or re-label rooms.

It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive as well. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that do very well at collecting debris from unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for an automated vacuum that can do everything.

If you're looking to cut costs or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper and has more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

eufy is an Anker company that has a history of producing robot vacuums that have the right combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors as well as carpets and mopping function too at a price that is affordable. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located close to an outlet that has plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it will be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. The design is more modest than other models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It uses an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable items in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it began.

The sleek G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand is more affordable and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister does not require emptying as often and it struggles less with bulky materials like cereal.
