Item upgrade allows players to raise the item level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This boosts the stats of the item and may also include buffs or rerolls on an attach.

Any NPC that upgrades items can be found in the game. In general NPCs can be found in major cities or questing spots. Players can also locate item upgraders when they visit dungeons with high-level bosses, or by talking to the NPCs in their faction's garrisons.

The item upgrade system in World of Warcraft provides players with the option of upgrading the level of armor, weapons and trinkets.
