Item UpgradesUpgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.
Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increase when it is upgraded. This value is the total of all its upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the item level. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be capable of causing. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the item level.
On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories about how the item level calculation is made. One theory suggests that the item level is determined by a formula that calculates the value of the stats of an item really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the
Best item upgrader." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.
Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items additional damage, special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.
All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other methods of rerolling.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat in that range unless they are an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to increase. But, like base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more useful in the initial game run than later ones since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned with the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that deals damage by 5percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an
upgrade item (
visit my home page) or to stop players from losing their item if it is not successful.
The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..
The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the Luck of that item. All items have a success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
