WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader mod upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display an
item upgrading's preview at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an
item level Upgrade (
lzdsxxb.com) has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an
item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less even if they belong to a different gear set.
The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another important modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is
Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
