World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost an item's Rarity or Mark Level and increase other stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the
Best item upgrader to be upgraded.
It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an indicator of the item's damage and its quality. The level of the
item upgrader can be used to compare items when examining a vendor's inventory.
On PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about how the item level is determined. One theory says that the item level is calculated using formulas that determine the value of the stats of an item really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values and that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is usually very close to Blizzard's actual item level.
This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the
Best item upgrader." The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications which are then increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an
item upgrade. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.
Another way to change the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.
Players can choose to upgrade an item to a specific stat or reroll attaches. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within the same range, unless it's a unique item, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to increase. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is especially useful for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.
Moreover some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The luck of an item can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.
Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects could be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the
Item Upgrader CORE client config.
