Path of Exile
Item UpgradingItem upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.
upgrade item components
Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected
upgrade item stats and the required component or materials.
There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.
If an item is finished being leveled in this way, it is eligible for a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is contingent on the item's base. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is located in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.
To measure the height of a structure engineers utilize an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can boost the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater your chances of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also includes number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an
item upgrades. This is a great method to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling can give players a faster path to a powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor pieces or weapons.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific procs that are useful for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character. The
Best item upgrader's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
