1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture leg. They also feature a feature called carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient
robot vacuum uk vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only
robot vacuum uk vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only
robot vacuum cleaners reviews we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing some more volume and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features
robots that vacuum and mop will let you forget about your chores. The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.
If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be extremely useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also grants access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top
robotic cleaner and mop vacuums we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
