In response to the suggestion, the Home Treatment Team performed a thorough assessment of Miss Kelly's present functioning and mental state. The evaluation included a thorough medical history and physical examination. It also involved a detailed assessment of the psychological and family therapy and a psychiatric diagnostic interview.
According to the report, Miss Kelly was afflicted by multiple mental health issues, including borderline personality disorder, bulimia-nervosa, and anorexia nervosa. She also had a history of drug misuse and had experienced domestic violence. Depression, anxiety, and stress made her suffer more. She was also diagnosed with bipolar affective and schizoaffective disorders.
Elayaperumal claims that Medtronic intentionally denied him a job due to his race and nationality. He claims that his poor performance review in June of 2000 and the denial to award him certain assignments were influenced by racism. Medtronic has not provided evidence that its decisions were based upon these factors. Moreover, Elayaperumal's lower performance review did not lead to any reduction in his compensation or benefits, nor did it affect his responsibilities.
