Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out with a jewel of the same type without damaging it. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.

It is typical to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. Jewels also enhance performance and create a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.

In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster.
