Cost

These upgrades are able to boost the overall strength of a unit or a single unit, and could have a significant impact on the gameplay.
Any NPC that upgrades items can be found in the game. In general NPCs can be found in major cities or questing spots. Players can also locate item upgraders when they visit dungeons with high-level bosses, or by talking to the NPCs in their faction's garrisons.
The item upgrade system in World of Warcraft provides players with the option of upgrading the level of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is very similar to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency players must visit an NPC to upgrade their items to complete the process.

Requirements

A player can reroll an upgraded item by using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new one. The new item will feature an additional set of bonuses, as well as a lower base item level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to note that the item rerolled will not be able to maintain its strength or have any wasted resources.
Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was an Epic, Rare or Unique. Exceptional items can also be rerolled, but the original stats are replaced with an uncapped bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare or Epic item will produce a Normal version, and rolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.

(Dice 6 can be dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 can be found from Bosses). You will also need various amounts of Minerals and Erons.
Time is an important factor.
Items upgrades can be used to improve the stats of your ship and gear without the need to level them. Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage offer a salvage kit that allows you to retrieve all or a portion of upgrade components. This is not applicable to legendary equipment or upgrades that can be recovered using an upgrade extractor or making a claim with the appropriate Karma dealer.
Rewards
Item upgrading rewards players with a variety of items and currency. In addition, each upgrade has a chance to grant a random extra stat bonus. The bonus value is different for every upgrade, and is typically higher for rarer items. The Great Vault can be searched by players to determine whether an item is upgradeable. The search can also determine if the item is of a certain tier and if the player could benefit from an upgrade.
During the upgrade process, an item will gradually increase to its next level, however, it isn't always able to reach the full upgrade bar. The process will consume Growthstones and Sollant however there is the chance to get a fully upgraded item with only one cycle of growth. The more levels an item attains, the greater its boosted stat value and the more items it can upgrade into.
Upgrade components can be integrated into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to give an attribute benefit or an additional effect when the equipment is equipped. Some upgrade components have additional cosmetic effects. Players can purchase upgrade components by crafting, buying from vendors, or at the Trading Post, looting, or receiving as a reward. In addition players can find upgraded items using an Upgrade Extractor, or salvaging them with a salvage kit. Glyphs placed on tools for gathering are able to be swapped.
A player can reroll an item into another upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow that indicates reroll. This alters the layout of the item's window, and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled can be exchanged for an
item upgrading of level 1 of the same kind. Recycled items will not keep their level, or the resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded to levels of nine, while common items can only be upgraded to level six. The item upgrades are added to the base statistics of the item. This means that they will not increase more after a certain point.
