Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum is able to keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency with which you have to manually vacuum. Choose one that has excellent navigation, is able to sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that has to be emptied only periodically.

There are models that clean and charge on their own, a feature that may be important for people with children or pets. The Top Rated Robot Vacuum performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want a fully automated cleaning, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot vacuum cleaner black friday's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes getting rid of any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning robots for home tasks and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases fresh air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly switch between handheld and floor vacuum, and vice versa.

This model has an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also gives the ability to connect two attachments as well as the Wand. This is a major improvement over older Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is an average and not a remarkable time for a battery-powered cordless vac. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house but not long enough to cover every area (though the second time around usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on a robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times for an efficient clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways in that it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. It's easy to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it wasn't particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature lets you keep track of your pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and dustbin can be washed for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ also has a clean station that self-empties to keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning run.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Unlike other robotic vacuums, which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than competitors to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's picking up surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also has a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to its dock for charging at the click of a button. The app lets you modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.

The app allows you to steer the robot manually, if necessary. My living room rug, for example is darkly colored that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however, continued to move across the border, without notifying the high point. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.irobot-roomba-i4-evo-wi-fi-connected-robot-vacuum-clean-by-room-with-smart-mapping-compatible-with-alexa-ideal-for-pet-hair-carpet-and-hard-floors-1365-small.jpg
