The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically replenishes and self cleaning vacuum-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most significant breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often plough right through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across to let you know to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't wish to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.

The design is also better than the other models. It features a sleek, top piece that resembles toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System also self-empties, which will reduce your cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to capture small gravel, sand and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.

While it's not quite as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot automated vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent choice for those who need mopping and a vac in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and it can be difficult to determine whether they're working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a robotic automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean your floors A hybrid is the best value robot vacuum choice. These robots come with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice when you're willing to compromise to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeably soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality do not excel in. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little missed corners and on walls.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones, alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place, emptying the bin is easy. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is among the top in the market, but it's expensive.

It's a small base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robot vacuum I've used that has done an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly in the area of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It can't climb stairs as well as competitors, either and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

Although it doesn't have as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those seeking a great all-round mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the price cost.

But if you want to save some money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other great choices on the market, including a lot of eufy models that cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums that have the right balance of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for carpets and hard floors, as well as a mopping function at an affordable price. It's simple to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock near a power outlet and enough space for it to move around however.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be placed under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, and features sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It makes use of an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable items that are in its path. It keeps track of the items it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.

The eufy G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has the same battery life and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is, however is more affordable and much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with bulky material like cereal.
