Upgrades give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using an button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current item upgrades level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via a variety of means which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if the items come from a different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item Level upgrade (120.zsluoping.cn) in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
