The amount of extras gained when upgrading depends on the amount of upgrades performed. Each upgrade boosts the corresponding extras by an increment of 1 up to a maximum of three. In addition, each upgrade will also increase the main stat by +1.
In addition to the stat increase Certain upgrades can provide a random boost. These boosts are valuable and should be considered when deciding what items to upgrade. Some items come with built-in boos, which is less effective when upgraded. For example, the Goldwrap offers an additional slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to add more value to a near-perfect or perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades have some associated costs. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. It can be costly and is contingent on the new level of the item as well as the number of perks it receives. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).
The second is the cost of the items required for an upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and over) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable through completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The quantity of these items required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
Upgrading an item is complicated and requires time. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it can take as long as 8 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the item's new ilvl bonus, perks, as well as other properties. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important stats. In some instances an upgrade may grant additional benefits. These perks are available on a list.

item upgrader kit, such as changing the damage type of its weapon, or adding or eliminating an operational or unwieldy feature. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl and may require special materials, such as adamantine.
Success Rate
The upgrade of an item is dependent on chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it will not succeed. However, there are a few things that can increase the odds of success. This includes using an Upgrade Pity or the addition extra materials to your upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is a product you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of an upgrade being successful by a certain percentage. It's similar to the "luck bonus" that some items provide however it is more reliable. It can be added to any weapon or armor and is able to be used up to three times.
It is also possible to add a variety of additional items to the upgrade, which increases the chance of success. These materials are displayed in a separate window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.
A Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version thereof, can be used to increase the odds of a successful upgrade. This item is helpful if you have an item of equipment that is at the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It will allow you to upgrade that piece of equipment to the next level without having to worry about breaking.
If an upgrade is unsuccessful the upgrade will be reversed to its previous state. This is typically a break, but it could also be a downgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you are nearing the highest level for an item.
Kafra offers a variety of items that can be utilized to increase the chance of an upgrade succeeding. item upgrader kit, the more Zeny and items will be required to upgrade it.
This system can be very expensive, especially for high-level gear. It can cost upwards of 100,000 z and 100 Carnium to upgrade an armor or weapon. As you rise in rank, your success rate decreases. You can increase the likelihood of upgrading an item by using cash shop items.

The upgrade window will show a percentage indicator of your chances of success. This percentage is based on the upgrade level of the item and the kind you have selected.
You can also choose the option of a security feature for your
item upgrade which will safeguard the item in case of failure. This protection isn't free however the cost will be less than purchasing a new item. The safeguard can be used once per upgrade, and it will not expire until it is used again.
The interface for the item upgrader could be difficult to navigate, but it's not impossible to navigate. The main menu is displayed on the left, and the upgrade window is located on the right. The arrows to the left of the UI represent the various stages in the upgrade process. If you're not certain what you're doing, you can use the question mark icon to seek help. The upgrade process could take as long as five minutes.
