WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.
The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher
Best item upgrader level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the preview of an
item upgrader kit's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an
Item Level Upgrade for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even if they belong to another set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific
item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the
Best item upgrade gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
