WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the
item upgrade level by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader kit upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the
item level Upgrade is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to
item upgrader mod owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the
item upgrades slot and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will be less expensive, even in the event that they are part of a different gear set.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the type or gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an
item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
