Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best method to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through
item upgrades. This lets you improve it without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items effectively.
Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. This bonus scales based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that can make your weapons and armor better. You can locate them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in the form of item-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them or by using an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other functions. They can be stacked to boost the value of an upgradeable item or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade increases the attack or defense attributes of a weapon.
You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components offer more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with an upgrade maximum number that is available for. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they are able to receive. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. The most commonly used upgrade is a tier 6 gun and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items which share bonuses. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be enhanced even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which can be important for some builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give an increased maximum defence roll than their base. It is possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they may not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.
If you're upgrading an item that comes with a bonus the item can be rerolled once, and its guarantee will reset back to 0. The same power dies are used to reroll an item, just as it would be to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased with Gold. The NPC will also offer an extra reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time with the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can play rerolling any item that they acquire in the game provided they have enough tokens. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced by a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens are sold at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The new item upgraded will still come with the extra bonuses of the first, but its stats will be different too.
In addition to rerolling objects, players can also change the identity of any equipment by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from a weapons to armor or reverse it. Its base stats and requirements remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the gear.
Players can also increase the level of an item equipped device by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the upgrader NPC of the item. This will cost a certain amount of crests as well as Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and item kind. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.
Upgrading an item can boost its power however, it can also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to balance the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while others require upgrades to make them more effective. A player might want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modification ( percent block chance or FHR) in order to see what else it can become.
The primary reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they are trying to acquire a certain character or weapon that they aren't able to obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only choices left are to invest real money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe this feature was intended to give value to expensive and rare items. However, since most items are replaced quite quickly and can only be upgraded by to a certain level, you will generally replace it before it becomes too old. It is also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets since the power of the gem will outweigh any increment in the ilvl.
You will see a small box when you click on the upgrade option for an item. It will display the template for the
item upgrader mod, its crest, and the cost for Valorstone to raise the level of the item. The cost of upgrades will vary based on weapons and armor as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats to be added to an upgraded
item upgrade, as well as its current ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the current ilvl of the item and the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage of lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% will decrease the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also receive upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the
item level upgrade receives when it is leveled can be observed below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all weapons and armor gain the same stats once upgraded. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command more in trade value than unupp'd versions. This is also true for other pieces of armor such as circlets or Tiaras.
