It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to check your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large particles and wash them if needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best rated robot vacuum robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the automatic vacuum and mop's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It's a pro at vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgThe Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
