Best Robot Floor Cleaner
In contrast to vacuum cleaners, which require you to move things around before they clean, robot mops can mop and vacuum without having to clean your home prior to cleaning. They also excel in cleaning around edges and thresholds.
Our favorite is the iRobot Combo j5+, which earned solid scores in CR's tests for vacuuming and mopping. It can navigate around obstacles within the home and clean hardwood floors as well as carpets with low pile.
iRobot Roomba Combo i5
This robot mop and vacuum is one of iRobot’s most versatile machines. It has an ordinary dustbin for dry waste and a separate water tank to handle wet waste. The tank is simple to fill and will alert you when it's full. You can also purchase a factory-compatible cleaning concentrate to use with this machine.
It is very good in navigating around the floor and staying clear of obstacles. It comes with a retractable mops that prevents carpets from becoming wet. The robot is also effective in removing pet fur from different floor surfaces. It is noisy and does not perform as well as competitors in removing dirt and debris that are deposited on floors.
The Roomba Combo i5 makes a great choice for those who want a powerful vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop without any additional equipment. It is best suited for homes with no carpeting and the majority of hardwood floors. However, it's not the best option for homes with a lot of stairs or large rooms that have a lot of carpet. It is also expensive but it has the features and performance to justify the price tag.
It employs the its own patent-pending Dirt Detect technology to identify areas with heavier dirt buildup and scrub them more thoroughly than other 2-in-1s. It features a sophisticated navigation system that allows it to move in neat rows to thoroughly cover the walls of the room. The mop pads are washable and can be reused for up to 30 times.
Create your own custom
self cleaning vacuum cleaner schedule with the iRobot Home App or your voice assistant1. Utilize the iRobot App to create the schedule and add rooms you'd like to keep out of future mopping sessions.
The iRobot Combo j5+ offers a more affordable option than the i7 and J9 models. It comes with similar mop features, including a patented dirt detection system as well as powerful vacuuming. The iRobot j5+ performs well in our vacuuming and mopping stress test however it's not as effective as Ecovacs Deebot X2 omni. This makes the Combo J5+ a much more flexible choice.

To keep your carpets dry and avoid carpet soaking, you can create Mop Zones that are not mopped in the iRobot app or use voice assistants* to tell it to not mop on these surfaces. Moreover, the Mopping Intelligence technology helps to keep your carpets dry by the detection and removal of mop pads that are wet from carpeted areas.
This robotic floor cleaner requires only minimal maintenance. The brushes must be cleaned periodically to remove hair and other debris and the side brush can be cleaned to avoid the clogging. You'll need to replace the filter on a regular basis.
The iRobot app comes with a variety of options and controls to make cleaning as simple as is possible. You can schedule cleaning time and view your history of cleaning and alter your settings. Narwal Freo X Ultra
A
top robot vacuum cleaner-rated high-quality, highly-functional Gen 4 robot vacuum and mop that takes a fresh approach to design and functionality, the Freo X Ultra is a very well-built machine. The price of $1400 might be difficult to swallow, but it is often available to make it more affordable. The unit looks great and the base station takes up very little space in the corner of the room.
The design of this machine addresses some problems we've encountered with other robotic mop and vacuum units, including brushes that get caught in hair and the brush not being able to reach bare flooring underneath furniture. The ability to sweep carpets and floors that are not covered is also impressive. The vacuum/mop system is equipped with the highest level of debris pickup and the mop can soak up floors that are not soiled.
The mops also use an intelligent system to clean around the edges of furniture and around walls. The robot can easily avoid obstacles such as food bowls, toys, and backpacks. However, it could get stuck or entangled with smaller and less hefty objects, such as shoelaces USB cables and pen.
This robot was used to vacuum and mop hardwood flooring FLOR carpet tiles as well as pile rugs in an open-plan home. With FREO Mind enabled, it cleaned and mopped the 90m2 space in around 170 minutes, which is close to average for Gen 4.
The
robot vacuum cleaner review is distinguished by its numerous characteristics. Freo X Ultra is equipped with numerous enhancements in software, sensors, and hardware to keep it on top of its class. It claims 3.5 hours of autonomy in environments up 260m2.
You can modify a variety of functions with the Freo app, such as how frequently the robot returns to the base station, its mopping frequency and power (silent or
smart robot vacuums) and its mopping humidity. The app can detect heavily dirty spots and create an appropriate cleaning route. It can also distribute detergent or raise the carpet pads.
Other impressive features include a rapid charging battery, a simple-to-read display on the robot's bottom and a practical dock door that can be opened easily. The Freo X Ultra is the best vacuum and mop for home and apartment owners who are looking to reduce their chores, while keeping their homes tidy and clean.
Miele Scout RX3
Miele is a name synonymous with quality and innovation in the field of robotic vacuuming. This new robot is designed to take cleaning performance to a new level, with its advanced features.
The RX3 has a dual-suction system, intelligent mapping with 3D mapping and camera that transmits a real-time image to your smartphone. The RX3's powerful four-stage system is excellent for dust collection on hard floors and carpets. Swing-out side brushes, dual suction channels and intuitive controls clean corners. The 8.5 cm height means it can get under furniture that is low, and front cameras and infrared sensors help it navigate around obstacles and thresholds easily.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda near corners and baseboards the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction power of 2,500Pa was a little weaker than other robots however, it moved swiftly and was quiet. It didn't mop however its washable pads were difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dirt that had dried on.
Its app is on the basic side, lacking advanced features like multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It supports Alexa however its voice commands aren't clear or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it returns to the charging station following an exercise. Other robots can follow the wall or trace the previous route however the RX3 is a mess until it finally gives up.
Another issue we faced was with its intelligent features, particularly the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. It was great at keeping our furniture legs and shoes away, but it was easily caught on socks, cables, and carpets. That's why we chose not to include it in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth looking into as an alternative to traditional uprights.
