Transponder Chip Key
The transponder chip key is an automotive security device that transmits a unique number of characters to the car's immobilizer after it is inserted into the ignition. The immobilizer then stops the vehicle's starter motor, fuel pump and any other system which would otherwise permit it to run not for the chip's identifier code.
