Bedside Cot ReviewsA
bedside cosleeper crib (also called a bassinet) sits next to your bed, so you can be able to provide care to baby during night feeds and nappy changes without needing to get out of bed. These cribs are ideal for fostering independence for your child as they grow more comfortable in their own sleeping space.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that allows parents to sleep with their infant while ensuring they're sleeping safely. The smooth glide motion helps to soothe your baby to sleep, and its ingenuous features allow you to monitor them without leaving your bed.
The sliding side panel of the cot can be lifted and lowered with a simple pressing of a button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a crying baby at night. It also comes with 11 height adjustments that let it accommodate the mattress of nearly every size bed. Additionally, it includes adjustable folding feet to make sure that it's placed at just the right level.
The cot is cushioned and has mesh sides that allow for more ventilation, and its mattress is made from high-density foam for added protection. It can also be cleaned, so you can keep the crib clean. It comes with a fitted bed sheet that can be used for the crib.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for bed, is compatible with a wide range of beds, including divans. This is because of the clips and straps that attach it. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib when it is not connected to the bed. It comes with a variety of amazing features designed with the idea of parent-child bonding in mind.
One thing to bear in mind is that while this crib is perfect for infants, it will not last long once your little one turns six months old, and you will have to purchase larger cots. But, in general Roanna felt that the Joie Roomie Glide was a very good purchase and she particularly liked its elegant design.
The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was a reasonable cost for a cot that has such innovative features. She liked how it looked in her bedroom and believed its gray color would be appropriate for most modern homes. However, she pointed out that it isn't an ideal idea to rock a smaller baby as it could set a bad habit for later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to provide an uninterrupted night's sleep. It features a drop-side rail that is able to be easily lifted to feed your child at night without disturbing them or causing them to get out of the bed. This is great for breastfeeding mothers! It's also light and easy to move around during nap time or for travel.
We love that it's constructed of soft fabrics with mesh sides that are breathable, which promote airflow and comfort. It's available in oak and charcoal and has a variety of melange fabric options that blend well with most decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when attached to her bed with the legs firmly snapping into the bed and the zips secured for baby-safety. It took her about 10 minutes to assemble and didn't require any tools, with clear instructions and a video or customer support contact number should you have any issues.
In addition to the standard features you'd expect from a crib that is bedside that include the ability to be connected to your existing bed using a stay-in-place connection system and six height levels, the CoZee has an additional incline option that can be used to aid congestion or reflux in infants. It's also machine-washable, which is a must with all the dribble, vomit and snot that comes with having a newborn!
If you're looking to keep your baby close to you during the first six months when they're beginning to learn to sleep independently, the CoZee is a great option as it can also be used as a stand-alone cot, changing table and toddler bed. It can also be transformed into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it isn't able to feed your baby, or magically put them to sleep, it will rock them to send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive alternatives. However, it has a lot of excellent features. It's designed to function as a side sleeper or standalone crib and is suitable from birth up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel with a brand new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings and legs that retract to installation underneath any bed.
Our testers were impressed by the ease of use offered by the side panel, that can be moved up and downwards with just one push of a switch. This was especially helpful during nighttime feedings as they could reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel itself, but this isn't recommended, since it increases the likelihood that your child could get out of the cot. The patented safety locking system ensures that the side panel will remain in place if it's attached correctly to the parent's mattress. This feature is fantastic to have peace of mind when you are breastfeeding and need frequent feedings at night.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers thanks to the legs that can be telescopic. It also has an option to tilt for babies with reflux and a rocking mode to help them sleep after feeding. It's also extremely spacious and provides great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, though it does have quite a long instruction manual. It's heavier than other side-sleepers but it's still quite portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's also small enough to fit in a travel bag when not in use, which is a bonus if you need to transport it. The only negative our testers found is that the side panel did not stretch as much as other models. This made it a bit harder to see your baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air
bedside cot for twins crib is an excellent choice for an infant crib that will grow with your child. It is designed to be a co-sleeping bassinet that will attach securely to your bed and convert into a chic cot when your baby is ready. It's perfect for night-time feeds and growing your bond with your infant.
Unlike some other models of
bedside baby bed cribs like the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. Its dual-view mesh side panels and the airflow mattress, which is hypoallergenic and breathable maximize airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope can help ease reflux and colic. The zip-down side lets you to feed your baby or soothe them during the night.
The cot conversion kit is also well-designed, with clear instructions. It comes with everything you need. It took us an hour to put together and was relatively easy to put together. The only downside was the absence of captions written on a few of the images which made it difficult to understand certain steps. Overall, the procedure was easy and the materials used were of high quality.
In the co-sleeping mode, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section, since it allows them to comfortably reach out to their infant to feed and comfort them without having to climb out of their bed. It's also great for mothers who want to avoid the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or placing their child down for a nap.
In our tests, we found the gliding motion of the next-to-me crib to be extremely beneficial in lulling babies back to sleep after feedings at night and midday. The drop-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe babies throughout the night. This was a huge selling point for our tired test mums. While it doesn't rock or come with extra features such as a sound machine the Joie Roomie Glide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition our top crib reviews for bed.
