A
Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed
If you want to keep your baby as close as possible at night, without having to get out of bed, a bedside crib is the perfect solution. The fabric's breathable design means you can easily see your baby and they're incredibly easy to lower for those bleary-eyed 3am feedings.
They can also be used as a moses basket, too.
What is a
bedside cot newborn crib?
A bedside crib (also called a co-sleeper or bassinet) is a small infant crib that can be attached to your adult bed, allowing your newborn to sleep safely next to you. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that doesn't increase your risk of SIDS, like bedsharing. It can also help you bond with your new baby.
The cots usually come with a side that can be raised, so you can easily reach your infant during the night for feeding and comforting. This is especially helpful for mothers recovering from a c section. Many of them are foldable or portable making them suitable for trips and as an interim solution for babies who aren't ready to be able to transition into a crib that is large enough.
If you're looking for a
bedside cot for twins crib Choose a crib that has a breathable mattress and a protective cover to protect your newborn from staining. It is also advisable to buy baby-safe items like a blanket, teether and a cuddly toy.
If you are seeking a long-term solution, some cribs come with conversion kits that let you transform them into a toddler bed or cot when the time is appropriate. This will prolong their life and make the transition smoother. Some even have a removable top section that transforms into a bassinet, while others can be used as a regular or a high-rise adult bed. This is a great option for families who plan to travel frequently or switch between bedrooms in the evening. Be aware of the size of your bedroom to ensure that you fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with a riser which can be used to create an incline for babies who have reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Roomie Glide, a
amazon bedside cot crib from the English brand Joie is a fantastic addition to their line of high-quality products for babies. This crib was designed to help parents bond and sleep side by side with their children without sharing a single bed. It's loaded with features that help make bonding between parent and baby safe, simple, and fun.
A gentle rocking motion can be activated by pressing the button. This gentle rhythm can soothe your baby to sleep without disrupting their natural sleep patterns. This is perfect for toddlers or older babies who are having trouble settling down. It can also assist with digestive issues such as colic and reflux.
The crib can be locked into its place after the rocking has been completed to stop it from moving. It can also be secured on the side of your bed with a strap and clip attachment. This makes it very solid and secure, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep without having to worry about your little one sliding off into the middle of the room. The rounded cocoon shape comes with soft padded sides and double mesh windows at both ends to allow for ample air flow while making sure your baby is safe.
The mattress comes with a firm and comfortable and has an easily removable cover. The crib is simple to set up and disassemble thanks to the lightweight aluminum frame that makes it very mobile. The four lockable rubber-covered wheels ensure that the crib does not leave marks on your flooring and is easy to move. The crib is easy to clean with the wipeable woven fabric and can be easily packed in a bag for overnight stays.
The TuttiBambini CoZee air
Designed to be a safe next-to-me crib from birth to six months old, this premium model has rocking bars and castors for ease of movement. The airflow mattress is a premium model that provides a comfortable sleep surface while ventilators keep your baby cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option that can aid in reducing reflux and congestion.
Contrary to some cribs that are placed on the bed that can be difficult to clean due to their endless stream of dribble and snot, the Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir comes with a wipe-clean lining and fabric that can be removed to wash in the machine. It also has a top bar which can be easily adjusted to accommodate feedings at night without the need to juggle zips.
Anna discovered that the CoZee was a comfortable and safe sleep space for her newborn. She was pleased that it didn't move like other models, which meant she didn't wake up in the night trying to soothe her child to feed. She also enjoyed that the side was lowered so she didn't need to reach over her partner to carry the baby out to feed her at night.
The CoZee is available in charcoal or oak and is a chic option for any bedroom. It looks more designer than other cribs we've tried, which are often quite utilitarian. It's also relatively lightweight at 11kg and comes with a carrying case which allows you to take it on vacation or if moving your home. The only additional items you'll have to purchase are a waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. The instructions and pictures are easy to follow once you open the box.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bedside bassinet that helps parents feel closer to their child while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and shifted through three different positions for sliding to fit beside the bed of the parent or in the corner, so that the baby is always in reach. The mesh siding lets air circulate through, allowing you to see your baby easily. You can also store additional pajamas and other items in the large storage basket underneath.
The Iora is a bedside crib that is smaller and can fold flat. It also comes with a travel case which allows it to be taken anywhere. It was easy to move around from room to room and our mum testers felt it was the perfect size for a bedside crib. They also appreciated the
large bedside cot storage basket which is ideal for stowing spare bedding or nappies.
This is an excellent choice for parents who are looking to co-sleep but do not want to share their own beds, or whose partners might be prone to mobility issues, such as arthritis or back pain. Our mom testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their child while in the Iora and that it included an optional reflux incline that helped reduce gas.
Our mothers also love the fact that it complies with NICE guidelines, which are to place the infant in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys pillows, etc.). The mattress is also a good firm and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are easy to find. It's not as light as other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move, choose another alternative.
