Our service is able to offer private ADHD titration as an alternative to waiting for NHS funding through Right to Choose. Our assessments cost include the cost of one prescription.

Titration

A highly experienced consultant psychiatrist will conduct a thorough evaluation of your ADHD. This includes a complete medical history, and an assessment using the common ADHD questionnaires and rating scales.

After your evaluation, you will be advised whether medication may be beneficial for your situation. The discussion will take place at your follow-up appointment (which could be in person, via video link or over the phone). Your doctor will explain the various options for medication and if you decide to start on medication we will offer to titrate dosage to ensure the balance of benefits and side effects for you.

This process may take several weeks and requires gradually altering your child's dosage until the appropriate balance is achieved. It is not uncommon to to adjust up to three different medications until you discover the one that best suits your child's ADHD. It is essential for parents to take part in this process of titration and keep an watchful eye on their child's behavior to inform the doctor if the medicine is helping or causing adverse effects.

If you decide to return to NHS treatment you will receive a private prescription for your medication. You will be required to pay at the pharmacy. This is not included in the consultation cost. You must attend six monthly appointments to monitor your medication. This includes pulse and blood pressure readings. Annual reviews are also required.

Follow-up appointments

Medication
