Convenience
A built-in microwave oven combo will free up counter space and give your kitchen a sleeker look. It can be used to heat leftovers, frozen food, and pre-packaged foods. It can eliminate the need for separate countertop appliances or bulky wall ovens. If you're looking to improve your home without having to undertake major renovations, a combination microwave oven is a great choice.
There are microwave oven combos in various styles to match your kitchen decor. Some have a right-to-left swing-out door, whereas others feature a drop-down style that opens the same way as an ordinary oven. There is also an oven and microwave that opens inside a drawer, like a cabinet. Microwave drawers are easily accessible and are perfect for small spaces.
Combination microwaves also come with various features to assist in making meal preparation easier and more efficient. For instance, some models have a sensor steam cycle that automatically adjusts the time and temperature of your food to ensure that you get perfect steaming of your fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil feature that allows you to quickly melt cheese or brown your favorite dish, as well as Crispwave(tm) technology that allows you to grill, bake and crisp foods.
When choosing a microwave oven combination, you should consider how often you'll use each function. If you'll be using the oven more than the microwave, you may be better off buying an extra wall oven. A combo appliance has a smaller capacity than an oven that is a standalone unit.
After you've picked the ideal microwave and oven combo for your requirements, you need to think about how you will install it. Over-the-range models are installed over the stovetop or cooktop and connect to the power outlet. Built-in microwaves are inserted into the walls or cabinets of your kitchen. Some models come with trim kits that allow you to seamlessly blend your new microwave with your existing kitchen cabinets.
Energy Efficiency
A
built in microwave with grill-in microwave oven combo can provide a great space saving option for those with smaller kitchens, whether they live in a home or apartment. They can save cabinet space that would normally be occupied by two separate appliances. Additionally, they also can help reduce energy consumption. They usually provide the most efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens, because they use less energy. They can also be used to cook food or warm meals. This eliminates the necessity for other appliances such as toasters or warming plates.
DOE conducts a variety of analyses when evaluating the possibility of amending energy conservation standards. These include technology and market assessments screening analyses, engineering analyses, and a national impact assessment (NIA). In this SNOPR DOE will use its engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine what degree of efficiency improvements are technologically feasible for this particular product.
In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave with an energy performance set of goals. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.
As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impacts on consumers, including cost savings throughout the lifecycle and simple payback period (PBP). DOE will utilize its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate industry net present value ("NPV").
The impact on manufacturers will be evaluated also as the impact on manufacturers will be evaluated. DOE will use a modified version of its Industry Cash Flow model that has been modified to this particular product type to calculate manufacturing NPV. DOE will also examine the impact of these proposals on small businesses as well as other subgroups of manufacturers to identify those who are likely to be affected.
DOE will also examine whether the test procedure for microwave ovens needs to be updated in order to include active mode power consumption as well as an energy use measurement. Currently, the test protocols only cover the use of standby mode power.
Design
Wall ovens rely on the circulation of hot air evenly while microwaves rely on waves to cause the water molecules in food items to vibrate and produce heat. Combination wall ovens blend these two distinct appliances into a single unit that can be used to save kitchen space and offers sleek, modern design. You must carefully think about your budget and needs before investing in a combination wall oven. Several of the
combination microwave oven built in wall ovens that we've rated have issues with performance or design.
