The i3+ EVO and its sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the robot's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it may encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums with cords that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and collect large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task that is being completed. It quickly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.

The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments as well as the Wand clip. This is a significant improvement over previous Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is an average, not an exceptional, time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to clean a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every area. (A second time usually works). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum cleaner amazon vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on the latest model of best robot vacuum for the money. It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice touch.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and works better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic hoovers cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and many more. It's easy to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it wasn't particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than some of the other models we've tested which could be a deterrent for some buyers.

The app lets you access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. The app allows you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum with different colors so you can easily tell what areas it's focusing on or where it's got stuck.

The application also allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that tends to make it difficult for other robots I've tried. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the high point. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
