Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good robot vacuum combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks are required, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and autonomous vacuum, is the newest version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may overlook.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot cleaner vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available and comes with numerous extra features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuums and mop models and it could be a great way of keeping your home clean for longer.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
