The
Best Robot HooverThe best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are both positives.
Be sure to check your
robot vacuum cleaners uk's brushes for hair tangled and large debris and wash them if needed. Some models also self-empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good deal for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient
robotic hoovers hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This top-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competition. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only
robot cleaner with mop in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and cleans and dry mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to the degree of dirt they are.
For larger homes it's worth looking for a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the
robot vacuum cleaners uk to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. Also a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we've test. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
