The
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot vacuum reviews Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. Some models have superior mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than the other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of the
best robot hoover navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and poop easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest
robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and works well however this is something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively rapid.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, however it has many useful features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be changed every one to three months.
This robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect a large amount of hair that our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other
robots that vacuum and mop struggled. The noise levels were low and there were nice jingles to let you know that it was in the process of finishing its work.
The app was too easy and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our test, but it also has distinctive features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning job and then recall the
robot vacuums that mop or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
