A
small bedside cot (
Telegra post to a company blog) That Attaches to Your Adult Bed
If you want to keep your baby as close as possible to him at night without getting out of the bed, a crib that is placed beside your bed is the ideal solution. The breathable fabric allows you to see your baby clearly and they are simple to lower if you need a 3am feed.
They can also be used as a moses basket, too.
What is a bedside crib?
A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet or co-sleeper is a baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your child to sleep next to you in a safe environment. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that does not increase the risk of SIDS, like bedsharing. It can also help you bond with the new baby.
The cots usually have a side that is able to be adjusted so that you can easily reach your infant throughout the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly helpful for mums recovering from a c-section. Many are portable or foldable so you can use them to travel or as a temporary solution for newborns who aren't quite ready to transition into a full-sized crib.
Look for a crib with a mattress that is breathable, as well as an extra-safe cover that will shield your baby from staining. You might also want to purchase some baby-safe accessories like a blanket or teether.
If you're looking for a longer-term option, some cribs come with conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a cot, or a toddler bed when the time comes. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition a lot easier. Some even have a removable top section that converts into a bassinet, and some can be used as the regular or high-rise adult bed. This is a great option for families that are planning to travel frequently or change between bedrooms at night. You should also consider the size of your room to ensure that you can squeeze the crib comfortably. A lot of cribs have an riser that can be used to create an inclined position for infants who suffer from reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
Famous for their high-end baby products for babies, the English brand Joie has entered the world of cribs for bedside use with the Roomie Glide. The idea behind the product is to aid parents in bonding with their babies whilst sleeping together without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper has features that help make bonding between parents enjoyable, safe and easy.
A smooth rocking motion can be initiated by pressing a button. This gentle rhythm can soothe your baby to sleep without disrupting their natural sleep patterns. This is great for toddlers and older infants who are struggling to settle. It can help with digestive issues such as colic and reflux.
The crib can be locked into place once the rocking is completed to stop it from moving and can be secured to the side of your bed with clips and straps. This makes it extremely solid and secure, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep without having to worry about your little one sliding off into the middle of the room. The rounded cocoon shape comes with soft padded sides and double mesh windows on both sides to allow for plenty of air flow whilst making sure your baby is safe.
The mattress included is comfortable and firm. It also includes a washable cover. The aluminum frame is lightweight, making the crib extremely portable and easy to assemble. The four lockable wheels are covered with rubber to ensure that the crib won't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. The crib is easy to clean thanks to the fabric that wipes clean and is able to be easily tucked away in bags for overnight stays.
The TuttiBambini CoZee air
This superior model is designed to be a safe next-to-me-crib from birth to 6 months. It has bars that rock to allow for easy mobility, as well as castors. Its airflow mattress is luxurious and provides a comfortable sleep surface while ventilators keep your baby cool. There are six different height settings including an incline setting to aid with congestion and reflux.
In contrast to other cribs for bed that can be a challenge to clean due to their constant stream of snot and dribble and snot, the Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir has a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be washed in the machine. It also comes with an upper bar that can be easily lowered to allow for feeding at night without the need to juggle zips.
Anna discovered that the CoZee could be a safe, cozy sleeping place for her infant. She was delighted the fact that it didn't roll like other models, which meant it wasn't waking her at night when she was trying to comfort her baby for feeds. She also enjoyed that the side was lowered so that she didn't have to reach over her partner to pull the baby to feed her at night.
The CoZee is available in charcoal and oak and is a chic addition to the bedroom. It's more of an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs we've tested, and can appear quite utilitarian. It is also relatively light at just 11kg. It also comes with a carry case so you can bring it with you on vacation or when you are moving home. It's all you need to buy is an extra waterproof sheet and safety strap to sleep with your partner. The instructions and illustrations are easy to follow when you first open the box.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bassinet designed for infants designed to help parents feel more connected to their baby as they sleep. It adjusts up and down and slides through three positions to fit beside the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room, so that the baby is always close to the parent's side. The breathable mesh siding allows air to flow through and allows you to glance at your little one. You can also store extra pajamas and supplies in the large storage basket beneath.
Unlike some other smaller
cheap bedside cot cribs Iora is a standout among other bedside cribs. Iora folds flat and comes with a bag for travel to allow it to be taken anywhere. It was easy to move around from room to room and our mum testers believed it was the right size for a
newborn bedside cot crib. The large storage basket is great to store bedding and nappies.
This is a great option for parents who want to sleep in a co-sleeping bed, but don't wish to share their bed. Or if one of the parents has mobility issues like arthritis or back pain. Our mom testers loved the ease with which they could access their child while in the Iora and that it came with an option to have a reflux incline which helped alleviate gas.
Our mothers appreciate that the mattress follows NICE guidelines. They recommend placing the baby in the Moses basket or crib on its own, without toys, blankets and pillows. The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for babies and sheets are readily available. It isn't as light as the other smaller bedside cribs, though, so if you want something lighter and more portable, look at other options in our list.
