The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Make sure you regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair tangled and large debris, and wash them when needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot vacuum for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with how dirty they are.

If you own a larger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you own a large furniture. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to organize an automatic vacuum cleaner spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes.
