1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.

The Combo J7+ is the best auto vacuum robot to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt effortlessly and leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.

Its design is an improvement over the rest, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in its place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. And it did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.

While it's not quite as smart as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent choice for those who need a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic vacuum cleaner best cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best robot hoover choice is probably one that is a hybrid. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank which means they can mop and vacuum your home at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model of their best auto vacuum-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the premium features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent option when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem which many robot vacuums often fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or change the labels of rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful in setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people but it will assist you in keeping track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and functionality are some of the top available however it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robovacs I've tested that does an excellent job of picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as some competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that lets the user to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price tag.

However, if you're looking to save some cash or don't want to think about the limitations of this robot There are many alternatives available which include a variety of eufy models priced substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper and has more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, with the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished carpets, low-pile carpets and even high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vacuums that have the right balance of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to set up, just attach one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock near an electrical outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move around, however.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it is able to be tucked away under couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious compared to some rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for auto vacuum cleaner Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from other models. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which doesn't require as much emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
