Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot gathered by enemies or received from chests or missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item upgrades in the game, the player will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the names of items. For example adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool and replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from earlier versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.

This will allow the Item upgrader kit to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that increase its features. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes available for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the Best item upgrade slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.

To determine the height of a building engineers utilize a level to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded Best item upgrader. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also come with a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be useful in studying patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, while others are not. Armor sets that provide high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the stats of the item when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you own lots of armor or weapons already.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own unique functions which can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item level upgrade and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. This will display the item's features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. This will also boost the defense of armor that has a newer appearance.
