WoW Upgrades - The
item level upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases
item upgrader kit level by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an
item upgrader mod for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even when they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the
item level upgrade in the proper steps and pathways.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
