World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be done at any upgrader NPC.

Upgrades boost the stats of an item, and can also add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for build casters.

Armour

Generally, the most common kind of utility item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving and the Jetpack, which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly produced in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.

Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the ones they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items are upgradeable for more effective use.

Most utility items enhance a specific combat attribute or give the player a kind of advantage when it comes to navigation.
