Inline Lever/Lever
A lever or lever door handle is a modern handle that can be installed on doors that are new or replacement. This kind of handle is available in a variety of designs and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe,
mila door handles, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The door handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks that require a strong design. The handles are inline, and use the same screws and spindle to secure them. They can be easily mounted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.
The spring lever design allows the handle to be set and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps to ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly beneficial for narrower door frames where the cylinder is further back. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with latches which can be operated with the thumb located on the inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently than lever handles found on most doors. These handles are operated by one spindle or two spindles, inline or offset. They are usually employed on UPVC double glazed doors and come in many variations & finishes.
The handles have been tested to at least 200 000 cycles and are available in several finishes including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.
All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles come with screws and a spindle, allowing them to be put on a new or existing uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres allow for a bigger handle, which is often a benefit when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.
It is crucial to ensure that the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called 'handle centres or cylinder centre'. It is important for matching the correct handles.
After you have identified the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the lever and push pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They are usually a square or round shape with an internal lever and external push pad.
The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads that we offer are spring-loaded. This means they will return to a horizontal position after not being used, rather than hanging and possibly securing to the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad style
window handles for upvc come in both left and right handed models which allows them to be installed on either side of doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. The cylinder lock operates by a key which unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those in the lock and allow them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors usually requiring different levels of security.
Choosing the right cylinder is vitally important; this is dependent on the way your doors and handle are utilized. For instance, exterior doors require an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features that can improve security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder needs to be measured correctly to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however when this isn't feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. It is important to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.
The design of the latest cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This helps prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.
There are cylinders that have been made to resist snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a break-in, which could hinder the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is found in the base plate of the door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles to their original position after using. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind did not have a spring integrated into them and without this they are more likely to slide or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is removed. This simple component is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also prevents your door from getting stuck in the open or closed position since they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks They will not work with multipoint
handles for doors that are not sprung and you will need to have a bespoke hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes in the door handle backplate of many brands of uPVC doors. They are fitted with a square cut-out that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and are available in a variety of.
