What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Costs

Success Rate

The upgrade of an item is dependent on the chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it will not succeed. There are several methods to increase your odds of success. This includes the use of an item called an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional materials to the upgrade.

The Upgrade Pity can be bought from the NPC for smithing in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of an upgrade being successful by a certain percentage. This is similar to the luck bonus some items come with however it is more reliable. This can be added to any weapon or armor and is used three times.

You can also add additional components to the upgrade to increase the chances of success. These are shown in a window that is above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version thereof, can be used to boost the odds of an upgrade succeeding. This item upgrade is beneficial if you have a weapon or piece of gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It allows you to upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without worrying about breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful, it will be reverted to its previous state. This is usually a downgrade, but could also be an upgrade. Keep an upgrade items in reserve until you reach the maximum level of an item.
