BOB
Single Pro Stroller Review
The stroller is easy to navigate, whether you're running along a trail or shopping at the supermarket. The locking swivel wheel on the front offers the option of an easier ride or a bump-free ride.
It comes with a vast range of accessories to keep your child comfortable such as a bassinet, warm weather footmuff, and a travel bag. It's also compatible with a car seat for infants.
Safety
The BOB Alterrain Pro is a high-quality stroller that is designed for runners. The aluminum frame is durable and has several fasteners. It also has very little flexibility. The design of the fabric and the way it joins the canopy, frame and basket are sleek and well-finished without bunching or errant stitches which is frequent on other strollers. The round brake pedal is a new system that we haven't seen before. It's simple to use and practical when running since it only requires one action to push "pins" into holes. The front wheel tracking adjustment knob is also simple to use and helps you get the stroller back on course if you get lost in the direction you're going.
The big, tough tires on this stroller are able to handle bumps and debris easily, making the ride comfortable for your child. The seat features a deep recline that can be locked in it's position. It also comes with a magnetic peekaboo and an all-point harness with no rethread to ensure secure straps. It comes with many features parents love, including mesh pockets for water bottles and a sun visor that can be adjusted and an ample, easily accessible storage basket. It can be used in conjunction with an infant car-seat via adapters, as well as an accessory for travel.
The stroller's length makes it difficult to maneuver, particularly in tight spaces. It is also difficult to maneuver on rough surfaces. It's also expensive, although it does come with some advantages that other full-size strollers don't: a set of 12-inch rear wheels that can be swapped to 16-inch wheels in case you want to travel faster or on rocky terrain, and a more user-friendly parking brake that locks two wheels with just one click. It's a good option for parents who are interested in jogging with their baby, but want the convenience of a full-size stroller even when they're not running. It's not ideal for daily strolling, and we recommend an option with a smaller size if you plan to use it for this purpose.
Comfort
The stroller is slim enough to fit through the majority of doors. This makes it easy to get in and out of the vehicle after a run. It also folds down with just one hand and weighs 33 pounds, which means it's a little heavier than a lot of the strollers we have included in our guide but still manageable for the majority of people to carry and fit into their trunk. It is compatible with car seats with an adapter available separately and can accommodate various major brands of car seats, including the Britax baby car seat that our tester used.
The handlebar can be adjusted to the right height for you or anyone else pushing. Its sturdy frame has few connection points of fasteners and there's a lot of movement in the frame or fabric. The seat also features a large, cushioned canopy, as well as a five-point safety harness. The only drawback is its weight. However, our test subjects did not notice any difference in their perception of exertion after testing it.
Our guides and their children walked 3 to 5 miles over different surfaces (paved roads and grass, gravel and bumpy, cracked pavement) and noted the ease they felt at each outing. They also used the strollers on longer walks on a variety of different terrains. They also noticed how easily their kids got into the seat and seemed happy during their outings.
The stroller might be quite expensive but some runners prefer it due to its outstanding features. The swiveling front wheel as well as suspension are great for dealing with rough terrain, and its large footprint gives plenty of stability. It has a large storage area in the rear and can be equipped with a sunshade and snack tray, and rear-facing baby carrier (not included).
This stroller is a bit more compact than other double strollers in our guide, but it's still fairly lightweight and easy to maneuver. It folds easily using a simple slide-and-twist mechanism. A bag that fits neatly under the seat is also included. The shocks can be adjusted manually but they'll reset to their original settings when you fold the stroller, so it's best to adjust them prior to each use.
