WoW Upgrades - The
Item UpgraderUpgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the
item level upgrade has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the
item upgrader mod will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current
item level upgrade level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will display the item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items come from a different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate
upgrade items steps and pathways.
The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
