There are a myriad of reasons why door handles of levers droop. The most common cause is that the fixings are over tightened and are putting strain on the bearings of the lever, causing it to bind against the door face. It could also be because the levers aren't operated at a straight angle and this is causing compression of the latch mechanism preventing it from fully springing back into action.
Another common reason is that the sprung lever is not working properly. This is typically due to the spring not being in the correct position within the backplate. To check if the handle returns to horizontal, simply move it.
