The
Best Robot HooverThe
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.
Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large debris and clean them as required. Some models also self-empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the
best robot vacuum that mops robotic hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the degree of dirt they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your
robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum to resume where it left off can be very beneficial.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also provides access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
