In contrast to other robovacs that we evaluated, the i3+ EVO comes with an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's full. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it must be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.

The i3+ EVO, just like the i7, uses cutting-edge floor-tracking sensors to create maps. It also allows you to navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7 also has the ability to utilize its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO cannot.

The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing surface debris compared to some other robovacs we've examined, but it's not the best at cleaning corners and edges. It also did an excellent job of avoiding obstacles such as furniture. It can also find its way back to the base station if it runs out of batteries during an exercise of cleaning.

It did a decent job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning test, but it struggled with thicker pile carpets and rug.
