Both robots are adept at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test. It can be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like rug and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is low, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its dirt into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes 3 hours to charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the latest technology. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin that removes a major source of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and vacuum a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes.
