Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday
robot vacuum cleaner price Vacuum DealsIf you've ever wanted to buy a robot
remote vacuum cleaner now is the time to get one. CNET's best-rated models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste most other robots can't avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first
robot vacuum cleaner on sale to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so that you can tell the robot to avoid it.
The Combo j7+ is also the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. And all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
Although it's not as smart as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot
automatic vacuum cleaner, which isn't able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent option for those who need both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors then a hybrid is the best choice. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. These bots also have various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're expensive at full retail but often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. While it may not come with some of the premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent option for those who are willing to compromise to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles like tables and walls which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums can really fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses on walls and corners.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make the robot simple to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place emptying the bin is done with relative ease. It also has an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help effectively keep track of the
robot vac's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are among the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.
The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robot vacuum I've used that has done an excellent job of removing dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of your home. It can't climb stairs as well as competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that lets the user to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do it all.
But if you want to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other options available, including a lot of eufy models for substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with more features like stairs, a fully-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company with a long history of creating robot vacuums that have the right balance of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet floors, as well as mopping functions for a low cost. It's easy to set it up, just attach one of the side brushes and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and enough space for it to move however.
The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it will be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The way that the G30 cleans is what separates it from other models. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it left off.
The sleek G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges more quickly and has the same battery life while offering better performance on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as often and comes with a set of boundary strips to restrict it from certain areas. The G30, however, is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and it struggles less with bulky materials such as cereal.
